Music Production

Tobias Federmann

A few years after I started playing the drums, I discovered electronic music and became interested in music production. After years of experimenting and sharing my work on YouTube, I had my first official releases under my artist project, TobeyBeats, in 2019. Over time, I explored various electronic genres, including Future House, Tech House, and Melodic Bass, before gradually shifting toward more chill music in 2022. By late 2023, I decided to start fresh with a new artist project focused on this style, leading to the creation of Fedders, which is now my main focus.

Below, you'll find a timeline of my music production journey — from my earliest experiments to where I am today.

First Attempts

Around 2014, I started to experiment with music production software and uploaded my first pieces to Youtube. My first Digital Audio Workstation was MuLab, but I quickly switched to Ableton Live.

First Official TobeyBeats Release

In September 2019, the first single of my artist project TobeyBeats was released on all major platforms. From now on I started to release music more frequently and got to know many like-minded artists around the world that I collaborated with on some releases.

New Artist Project: Fedders

In late 2023, I translated my decision to start a new artist project into action and founded Fedders. One of my latest releases on TobeyBeats at this time, "Under Water", was already fitting the new chill style of Fedders, so I added it to the Fedders discography as a transition song.

Regular Releases

In March 2024, I had my first actual release under Fedders, "4 AM". Since then, I regularly release music under Fedders with various established record labels like Soave Records, ChillYourMind and Gemstone (Revealed Recordings), and occasionally also still under TobeyBeats.
